Mandate

The Directorate is entrusted with the responsibility of coordinating the preparation, finalization, managing and controlling of the National Budget as well as the maintenance of an efficient payment system of the Government.

Core Responsibilities

Budget Preparation

Coordinating and facilitating the preparation of the National Budget in accordance with government priorities and fiscal policy objectives.

Budget Finalization

Ensuring the National Budget is finalized and approved within the prescribed legal and regulatory frameworks.

Budget Management

Managing and monitoring budget execution to ensure alignment with approved allocations and government objectives.

Budget Control

Implementing control mechanisms to prevent budget overruns and ensure fiscal discipline across government entities.

Payment Systems

Maintaining and managing an efficient and secure government payment system for timely disbursement of funds.

Fiscal Oversight

Providing fiscal oversight and analysis to support informed decision-making on budget allocation and expenditure.
