Mandate
The Division of Information Technology is responsible for enabling, managing and providing access to the services offered by the Ministry through information technology (IT) initiatives, in accordance with the Ministry's innovative strategic objectives.
The Division supports the Ministry's digital transformation agenda by deploying secure, reliable and modern technology solutions that improve service delivery, enhance operational efficiency and safeguard government data.
Core Responsibilities
- Plan, develop and implement IT policies, standards and procedures to guide the Ministry's use of technology.
- Manage and maintain the Ministry's IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, workstations and communications systems.
- Ensure the security, confidentiality and integrity of government data and IT systems through appropriate cybersecurity measures.
- Administer and support the Ministry's core financial management systems, including IFMS and related government platforms.
- Provide technical support and helpdesk services to all staff and directorates within the Ministry.
- Coordinate and oversee the procurement of IT hardware, software and services in accordance with government procurement regulations.
- Drive the Ministry's digital transformation initiatives and support the adoption of e-government services.
- Manage disaster recovery and business continuity planning for all critical IT systems and data.
- Liaise with the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology and other government agencies on cross-cutting ICT matters.
IT Services
Helpdesk & Support
First and second-line technical support for all Ministry staff, covering hardware, software and connectivity issues.
Network & Connectivity
Management of the Ministry's LAN, WAN, internet and VPN infrastructure across all offices.
Cybersecurity
Protection of government data and systems through firewalls, access controls, monitoring and security audits.
Systems Administration
Administration of IFMS, email, document management and other core Ministry applications and platforms.
IT Procurement
Coordinating the acquisition of IT hardware, software licences and services in line with procurement regulations.
Disaster Recovery
Business continuity and disaster recovery planning to ensure resilience of critical government financial systems.
